Sukkhhar Diaries
A 40-year-old man Ibrahim from Sukkhhar, Sindh, who repairs vehicle tires and comes from an economically disadvantaged household, experienced a sudden and severe headache several months ago. He developed progressive lethargy and persistent vomiting, prompting his family to seek urgent care at the local district hospital.
Computed tomography of the head demonstrated intracranial hemorrhage secondary to a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. Given the high risk of re-rupture, immediate endovascular treatment was required. The estimated cost of the procedure was approximately one million Pakistani rupees.
His family presented to our center in Lahore. With the support of our international faculty, we performed endovascular coiling at Defense Farooq Hospital at no cost to the patient. The procedure was successful, and the patient has since made a full recovery and returned to work. Yet another life is saved due to advanced endovascular facilities.
